Meet Cedrick | The Man Behind The Locker Room | The Locker Room

Before the Locker Room
Before I ever ran a restaurant, I was working in chemical plants. Hard work, long hours. Hospitality wasn't on my radar at all.

A regular at Krobar
I used to hang out at a laid-back, family-owned bar called Crowbar, in the same spot where The Locker Room stands today. The owner asked me more than once to become his partner. Every time, I said no. This wasn't my field.

The sign
Then one day, I went with a friend to see a psychic, just for fun. She told me I was going to own a business, and that I should do it without partners. Not long after, Crowbar's owner came back to me with the opportunity again, and this time he told me to take it on myself.

Saying yes without a plan
I said yes. No plan. No experience running a bar or restaurant. Just the decision to go for it.

Building it from the ground up
I took on the building in August 2018 and spent the next year learning everything I could and getting the place ready. In October 2019, The Locker Room opened its doors.

Still standing
A few months later, COVID shut everything down. Like so many small businesses, we had to close and fight our way back. Through every up and down, The Locker Room has stayed 100% mine, and 100% Houston's.

What keeps me going
The best part has been the people: the work, the friendships, and the community we've built together. Houston embraced us, and I don't take that for granted. Seven years in, I'm still learning and still making this place better every day.

"Come in, grab a plate, catch the game. I'll probably be right there."
